Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Cusco, City Tour and Surrounding Ruins
Welcome and Historical Center
Upon arrival, we will transfer from the Cusco airport to your hotel. After picking you up from your accommodation, we will begin the City Tour Cusco. We will begin by visiting the Cathedral, which has a Renaissance structure, a main altar covered in layers of silver and fine paintings from the “Cusqueña School”. Next, we will visit the Qorikancha (Coricancha) or Temple of the Sun, which in Inca times was full of gold walls, statues and altars, and which currently houses the Convent of Santo Domingo.
Fortresses and Shrines
We will continue the tour visiting the ruins surrounding the city. Your attention will be drawn to the archaeological complex of Sacsayhuamán, located 5 km away, famous for its giant stones with rounded edges that fit together perfectly. We will also visit Qenqo, a sacred amphitheater and center of worship to the god Puma; Puka Pukara (Pucapucara), the “red fortress” that acquires this hue with the light of twilight; and Tambomachay, the Inca temple built to worship water. Once the tour is over, overnight accommodation in your hotel.

Day 2 – Tour to the Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu
Train Trip to Aguas Calientes
We will pick you up from your hotel to transfer you to the Ollantaytambo station, according to the chosen train schedule. We will board the train to enjoy a beautiful trip to the town of Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, our staff will meet you at the station to take the bus to the gate of the citadel.
Exploring the Wonder of the World
We will begin the guided tour of Machu Picchu, discovering the history of its impressive stone enclosures. Once the explanation is over, you will have free time to tour the citadel at your own pace. Then, we will return by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you will have the option of lunch (not included). Finally, we will board the return train to the Ollantaytambo station and transfer to the city of Cusco for your night's accommodation.
